    Infoteam s.r.l.

    Infoteam has a solid experience in the management, planning and control of the seafood supply chain. Over the years we have developed integrated systems between apps, devices and ad hoc softwares that are involved in the very first phase of the process. Devices installed on the fishing boats allow to specify origin, quality and quantity of the catch and interact with the softwares developed to manage the online auctions of the fish markets. The data collected by each boat are centrally gathered in order to be used in the online auctions of the fish markets.
    The management of the wholesale fish markets through online auctions, developed in open source environment, allows credited users to receive many information and to do innovative operations such as a total seafood traceability, automatic weighing, display of the auctioned seafood with information about weight or species and real-time label printing. Transparency and total visibility of the product, along with the removal of geographical and physical barriers relating to the seafood auctions procedures, allow a development of the business since give the users the chance to win the selected product with an optimization of time and resources.
    E-fish allows in a simple and transparent way to manage and verify the whole seafood supply chain traceability; moreover the native connection with INRIMA system – Information Risk Management (one more software solution by Infoteam s.r.l.) increases functionalities, including analysis and risk management process. It also identifies and controls the “safety measures” in order to:
    • prevent seafood “fraud” attempts, such as ration frauds (sales of frozen fish, chilled instead of fresh), frauds on farmed fish sold as caught and the frauds on the change of species.
    • prevent any type of sanitary risk, adopting the concept of total quality in respect of the national and international laws on fishing and trading, with reference also to the main case studies of sanitary and commercial non-compliance in the fishing industry (among the considered issues there are: laws on fishing industry and trading linked to health and hygiene legislation – documentary checks – methods of inspections at landing sites, wholesale markets, distribution centers, retail and import-export – national and community legislation on mandatory minimum sizes of marketed fish species – sanctions regime – main legal and illegal additives used in the fishing industry – main non compliance and RASFF on imported fish – main non compliance on packages and labels);
    • manage both the unsold fresh fish to be destined to the processing industry and the scrap before it becomes perishable. In this respect, observations can be made on risk assessments based on the waste of product due to problems like, for example, the overfishing, the unsold fish, the improper storage, breaks in the cold chain, diseases, parasites, catch contamination, the presence of out-sized or unwanted by the market products, the scraps, the inefficiency in the processing chain, the presence of spoiled product. Thanks to these information, moreover, it is possible to extract indications that allow to manage conveniently the fish “spawning season” (planning the so called biological rests) through specific links with public institutions. Such links can be extended, for example, also to marine research institutes, to business associations, chambers of commerce, mass market and fish processing companies.
