Brief description:
The Agency for the Support of Civil Society (ASCS) was established on the basis of Law No. 10093, dated 09.03.2009 and has the following mission and objectives:
The encouragement, through financial assistance, of a sustainable development of civil society and the creation of favorable conditions for civil initiatives to the benefit of public, in conformity with Article 4 of the Law and with the priorities and strategies of the Government Program according to respective fields.
Activities:
– The encouragement of cooperation with NGOs which have as their work object, the monitoring of the fight against corruption, fight against trafficking in human beings and treatment of its victims, against violence in the family and against violence towards children;
– The encouragement of citizens in activities, their inclusion and participation for the development of the community;
– The creation and consolidation of capabilities of the civil society;
– The development of inter sectoral cooperation and of cooperation between the organizations of civil society;
– The increase of public influence and activity of the organizations of civil society;
– The development of social undertaking and employment in the non profitable sector;
– The increase of the influence of civil society in the processes of drafting and approval of public policies.

Brief description:
The Mission of the organisation is the education of the community with sustainable and functional knowledge on the issues of environment to raise their capacities so as to ensure behaviour of European standards, to respect regulations for the utilisation and safeguarding of the biological asset of Albania. This mission is accomplished through interactive trainings, study visits and scientific studies in the ground.
Activities:
– Environmental awareness raising of the public with the focus of all strata of the society
– Education and capacity building actions of the community groups (school, farmers, local authorities, CSOs) through trainings to raise the capacities in the field of environmental protection and biodiversity.
– Promote public, CSO participation in decision making process.
Methods of work include but are not limited to promoting: Awareness raising; Environmental education (capacity building, trainings, debate, speeches); Public outreach and participation; Nature conservation and monitoring, conducting Research and Consulting stakeholders.

– Green schools, Cleaner environment, Healthier life (Cross Border FYROM-Albania), Lead Partner
– Innovative Practices in Bio tourism (Cross Border Greece-Albania)

– Green Phone Services Networking (Albanian National level programme)
– Establishment of Local Action Groups (Albanian National level programme)
– Awareness Raising of the community of the Prespa National Park on the water quality through the Monitoring of Biological and Chemical Indicators (Albanian National level programme)
– Improvement of the Quality of Teaching in the Basic Education Level in the Albanian schools (Albanian National level programme)
– TOT for Primary Educational Level Teachers on Environmentally Related Teaching Subjects (Albanian National level programme)
– Production of the second edition of the Red Book of Albanian Flora and Fauna for primary school level of education (Albanian National level programme)
