Dear all,
We are a Technological Centre of the Agriculture Auxiliary Industry (TECNOVA) located in Almeria (Andalusia, Spain). As you may know, Almeria is considered to be one of the main horticulture producers in the EU.
Our organisation is made up of more than 120 companies from the agriculture auxiliary industry, therefore covering a wide range of all the areas related to this sector: agrochemical, biotechnology, greenhouse installation, climate control, fertilisers, packaging, engineering, fresh-cut and ready-to-eat production, laboratory, machinery and tools, postharvest equipment and technology, agricultural plastic material, biological production, irrigation and fertirrigation, seeds, substrates, technologies for improving quality of horticultural production, water treatment, waste recycling, and environment.
TECNOVA is recognized as Technological Centre of the Agriculture Auxiliary Industry by the Regional Ministry of Innovation, Science and Enterprise. At the national level it is also recognized as Support Centre for Technological Innovation included in the National Directory of Technological Centres and Support Centres for Technological Innovation of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

1) Horticulture Production Technology:
– Increase of security in greenhouses;
– Analysis of materials and building processes in agribusiness structures;
– Industrial automation and robotization of agribusiness machinery and processes;
– Development and evaluation of new products for zero waste agriculture;
– Application of renewable energies to horticulture systems;
– Improvement of climate conditions in greenhouses;
– Valorization of agriculture waste;
– Characterization of properties of plastic materials;
– Study, testing and certification of plastic elements;2) Postharvest Technology and Packaging:
– Fresh-cut and ready-to-eat products;
– New packaging formats and materials;
– Laboratory for sensory analysis;
– Laboratory for gastronomic innovation.
– Studies about new disinfection technologies:
– Optimisation and monitoring of food quality management systems.We would like to express our interest to participate in the MED Programme. Although we have no experience in MED projects, we strongly believe our participation would provide added value since we represent a key economic sector in the Mediterranean area and we are located in a geographical area with much impact.
We are particularly interested in PRIORITY AXIS 3: MED RESOURCES. Protecting and promoting Mediterranean natural and cultural resources (Specific Objective 3.2: To maintain biodiversity and natural ecosystems through strengthening the management and networking of protected areas) and PRIORITY AXIS 1: SMART MED. Promoting Mediterranean innovation capacities to develop smart and sustainable growth (Specific Objective 1.1: To increase transnational activity of innovative clusters and networks of key sectors of the MED area).
