We are developing research at ICAAM, from University of Evora, one resaerch center devoted to agricultural research. We are looking for partners that can be interested in a project devoted to simprove agricultural economy through a high consumption and valorization of local agrifood products. Agriculture deserves considerable attention in mediterranean area, but agifood products presentes sometimes low competitiveness.
At this project we are focused in three main points:
    1. to study detrminants of mediterranean agrifod products (among the several factors that may influence acceptance and choice of foods, which are the ones more important for the consumption of foodds with the characteristics of fods from mediterranean diets: sensoria? psychological; economic?) Only by knowning such factors, using a multidisciplinary approach, we can direct products and change habits
    2. to explore new marketing strategies for local products, from local producers.
    3. to promote new mediterranean based gastronomy turism. Simmilarly to several rstaurants distributed worldwile, where different approaches, linked to different experiences, can be tested with mediterranean local food products.

    Dear Elsa,

We would be interested in your project idea and become partners in it.

Surgenia, the Andalusian Technological Centre of Design, is a non-for-profit foundation specialized in the design of products, interiors and services. The core activity of the centre is to create added value through a deep and continuous analysis of consumer trends, branding, market research and applicable technology, taking into consideration people’s expectations, preferences and experiences. For that reason, Surgenia works under a design-thinking co-creation methodology in which the final user is at the centre of the design process.

Since 2013, Surgenia is member of the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA), the biggest European network of design centres that promote design as a tool for innovation before the European Institutions and other relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the centre is member of other networks, such as the Andalusian Network of Technological Centres (RETA) and the Spanish Technological Platforms for Packaging (Packnet) and Nutrition (Food for Life).

Along with specialised branding and applied research, one of the main activities of the foundation has been training and education. In this particular field of activity, Surgenia has developed inter alia programmes on design for tourism companies, product and services design, and workshops on creativity techniques, having collaborated with associations of designers, national ministries, universities, etc. Furthermore, in 2009 the centre released a set of three manuals on best practices: Design Profession, Enterprise and Design, Design and Public Sector. In addition, Surgenia has published Gastrotrends: Packaging design and consumption trends report on agribusiness products, and just released its 2nd edition, focused too on the tourism sector.

Looking forward to hear from you.

    Best regards,

Simona Presenti for Municipality of Pachino-ITALY

    Dear Ms Lamy,
on behalf of the Municipality of Pachino in Sicily (main island in South ITALY) we’re interested in your proposal.

Agrifood tourism is one of the strategic assets the Municipality of Pachino is committed to exploit under the current administration. A marketing, communication and exploitation plan based on gastronomy excellence has been started with the participation at the EXPO 2015 in Milan. Local actions has started too through dedicated festival focusing on local food both as a cultural attidue and an important economic activity.

PGI resources produced in our territory are among our key assets for attractivity: vegetables, winery and fisheries.
This means that Production and Commercialization strategies must be tailored to address the Micro and SMEs potential, but also promoting cooperation and coopetion among local producers and MSMEs: thus a proper Marketing plan responding to the territory visibility and the MSMEs competitiveness is needed.

Please if our profile is suitable for your proposal contact me at: simona.presenti@gmail.com
    Best regards
