ANEI (Albanian Network for European Integration) has been working for more than 15 years since its establishment in enhancing the capacities of the Albanian government and its citizens to align with the EU requirements and standards and thus join the European family. The initiators, 4 NGO-s, working from many years now, established the Albanian Youth Network for European Integration (AYNEI) in December 20, 2000, which is now ANEI, with the ultimate goal to organize and coordinate actions and policies for all the strata of the society focusing in young people, women, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups. ANEI, through its programs, works to inform, educate them for active participation in acceleration of Albania towards European democracy, culture, values and tradition. ANEI promotes initiatives to introduce active citizenship, human rights and European knowledge-based programs having in focus also the gender perspective. ANEI strives to sensibilize institutions such as the family in the gender perspective, media, central and local government, civil society and the private sector to contribute to the development and transmission of such knowledge and values to the young girls, women and youth in general. Such actions are interwoven with research at local and central level, working with civil society. Besides, ANEI is in the process of expanding with new programs, forging new partnerships and making our resources more accessible. This is also applicable to international exchange programs on research and policy making and awareness being at the centre of strategies towards European integration among the Albanian whole society in general focusing in women and youth. ANEI has successfully concluded programs that directly work at local and central level facilitating the dialogue between local government and the vulnerable and marginalised groups of the society in various fields such as environment, tourism promotion, cultural heritage. Our organization has its branches in different cities of Albania such as: Berat, Fier, Shkodra, Vlora, Gjirokastra, Elbasan,, Kukes, Durres, but also has its contact persons in all the regions or organizations who are key points of cooperation and key persons enjoying high reputation in the whole area. ANEI has a pool of experts who work in all the regions of Albania and have a regional network of CSOs, media, business community with whom its been working successfully to implement various projects targeting young people and other vulnerable groups with gender perspective. Its experts have been working from more than 15 years in the whole territory of Albania with local governments and civil society having an asset of more than 250 organizations and all the municipalities in Albania.
