As you may be aware of, in the INTERREG MED programme
ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) still play an
important role, but this time as a cross-cutting theme that links
in with the other thematic objectives. Therefore, proposals are
expected to make good use of ICT, according to the thematic
objective they address, as well as their individual aims and scope.
The SEIT Lab has extensive expertise in the practical use of ICT in a
number of areas, such as e-Health, e-Business, e-Government, e-Learning,
environmetal and energy related matters, as well as issues of entrepreneurship
and innovation. It has participated in many EU funded projects, including
several Framework and H2020 projects and two Interreg IVC ones.
Furthermore, as the University of Cyprus is the primary state university in the
country, it has close links with local, regional and national authorities and
policy makers, whom we can invite to participate in an Interreg proposal. You
may find more information about SEIT’s activities and areas of expertise
at the lab web site, http://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/seit . Contact point:
George A. Papadopoulos, e-mail: george@cs.ucy.ac.cy .
Consequently, we seek to join proposals for INTERREG MED that
involve ICT. We will be assisting in the preparation of the proposal and
contributing to it as a partner, along with any needed policy makers and
government organizations in Cyprus.
