CETMA (http://www.cetma.it) is among the largest private non-profit research centers in Italy with over 20 years of experience in studies on materials, processes, techniques and methods to support the innovation processes of industrial enterprises. CETMA is a multidisciplinary product development center with the mission to increase and integrate pervasive and enabling technologies such as Materials and Structures Engineering, ICT, Industrial Design. The ICT Department promotes applied industrial research activities and technological transfer and develops advanced information systems and solutions in various fields, such as Manufacturing, Logistics and Transport, Home Automation, Knowledge Management, Virtual Reality, Data Processing and Advanced Visualization. ICT Department carries on virtual and augmented reality issues about collaborative and interactive immersive system. It designs and develops software for immersive environment and designs, installs and configures virtual room for advanced visualization and interaction. ICT Department manages the CETMA Virtual Reality Center (CVRC – http://www.cetma.it/cvrc), one of the biggest virtual reality center in Europe, also for virtual prototype tests and for edutainment experiences sessions.
The Information Systems and Knowledge management Area conducts applied research in ICT sector and provides services for process innovation, using the most advanced information and communication technologies. Main skills are the design and development of ICT solutions for education, environment, tourism and cultural heritage applications, particularly:
• Integrated solutions for Tracking of goods and persons (RFID, NFC, barcode,..)
• Software solutions with the integration of sensors for distributed Monitoring (IoT)
• Dashboard for advanced statistics based on Big Data and Data Mining
• Solutions for integration with Control Systems e Devices
• Engineering calculation software
• Software solutions for Home automation and Energy efficiency
• Solutions for Decision Support System based on Expert Systems, Machine Learning
CETMA is UNI EN ISO 9001 certified for research and development in the field of advanced industrial engineering and for the development of integrated engineering projects for industrial applications.
