I am writing to you in order to position our interest to participate in your’s “Energy efficiency in public Buildings” project proposal, utilizing Decision Making Tool (DMT) with our company OMAS Cyprus Ltd, an Innovation, Technology and Management Consulting company, located in Nicosia, Cyprus.
OMAS is providing Strategy Implementation, Training, Performance management and Benchmarking Services, as a Technical Consultant to the Public Sector and the Municipalities in Cyprus, through Cyprus Academy of Public Administration and Local Authorities, we have therefore discussed the interest of a number of Municipalities to participate in such a project.
Our company has also participated and developed expertise in the area of “Sustainable Renovation”, we can therefore apply our’s experiences for the Design and implementation of an Innovative Sustainable Renovation Project for the Public Buildings.I remain at your disposal for any further info and/or clarification you may need.

On behalf of the Faculty of Mathematical Engineering and Physics Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Tirana (PUT), Albania, I would like to express our interest in participating in your project idea under the MED Programme.
The Polytechnic University of Tirana (PUT) is the only higher technological institution in Albania. PUT is a public non profitable institution grouping seven Engineering Faculties and one Institution of Research and Development. (http://www.upt.al).
UPT employs 700 full-time tenure-track professors and offers integrated five-year programs (Bachelor + Master) in every discipline.
Therefore it has the experience, capacities and systems to undertake large and strategic-scale projects using a multi stakeholders approach. UPT clients include central and local government, private investors, organizations at local and regional level.
The Faculty of Mathematical Engineering and Physics Engineering has been involved in the following projects:I.) The first National Communication of Albania to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), 2002; Evaluation of environmental effects of different contaminants in urban areas
2.) Building capacities to improve the quality of the greenhouse gases inventories, 2005; Evaluation of industrial processes, waste, gases, noise and other contaminants in the territory of Albania.
3.) The second National Communication of Albania to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), 2007-2009; Environmental management systems and SME-s in Albania: Evaluation of the Environmental Situation and certification after the international standard ISO 14001:2004; 2007-2009
4.) Rural sustainable development through integration of Renewable Energy Technologies-in poor European regions – Specific support actions (SSA) for Western Balkan Countries. Funded by 6th Framework Programme of the European Commission, Research Directorate-General
Beside our highly skilled staff, our strong local network across Albania and the region ideally placed us to facilitate development projects. Polytechnic University of Tirana’s clients include central and local government, private investors, local and regional level organisations and certainly international organisations such as UNFCCC, GIZ, USAID, Soros Foundation, European Commission, etc.

the laboratory of urban and regional system engineering (LISUT) at the University of Basilicata (Italy) is a research centre whose interests are regional and urban planning, developed with specific thoughtfulness to landscape protection, land-use activities effects and rural development. We have deep knowledges in the fields of geographic information analysis, of spatial statistics, of urban modelling, of Spatial Data Infrastructure development. We have interests in the Internet of Tings phenomena, and we have skills in open hardware usage.
We manage several contacts with local public bodies and territorial administrations such as the Province of Potenza, the Basilicata Region and several Municipal bodies. We are also in partnership with the UNESCO Club of Basilicata Region and we can eventually work on the involvement of the 2019 European Capital of Culture, Matera Municipality. We are also ready to open our EU partner’s network and portfolio in order to develop an interesting proposal on the subject you described.

Regarding to your proposal, I inform you that ITE, Energy Technology Institute, is a Research centre whose services, products and technological projects are addressed to national and international public bodies and companies in the power, electric, electronic and communications sectors.
Energy intelligence and energy efficiency is one of the main strategic research areas of ITE, especially addressed to residential and tertiary sector buildings. ITE capabilities range from the energy efficiency analysis and verifications, development of energy monitoring and managing systems in order to achieve optimal energy buildings and even deep retrofitting and near Zero Energy Building, controlling consumptions, renewable distributed generation and storage technologies.

In particular, it is in charge of the cultural heritage of the Beja region, in the South of Portugal, between the Atlantic ocean and the Spanish border. Medjimurje energy agency ltd. (acronym MENEA) was established in year 2008 as a part of the EU project financed from Intelligent Energy – Europe (IEE). Agency establishment was initiated by County of Medjimurje and Regional development agency REDEA. County of Medjimurje is also MENEA’s single owner. MENEA was founded having in mind a goal of promoting idea of sustainable development in accordance with actual needs in the area of the County of Medjimurje while promoting use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Efficiency (EE), which is in line with strategic goal of the County.
MENEA’s business activities include a wide range of activities through which information, technical and other needs of public and private sector in area of RES and EE are satisfied. Among others, MENEA’s activities include providing information and advises regarding energy through information and promotion channels, ie. web site, organizing seminars and workshops, projects implementation and through everyday direct contact with citizens and business community.
