    Project: TOURISM FOR TOMORROW
    M2 + M3

The main idea of the project is to assess the sustainability of some Mediterranean tourist destination. The project is developed in two phases: the first one will be focused on testing the results and outputs of the project “Profile of sustainable for some Mediterranean tourist destination” in 6 Pilot destinations, in order to improve the methodology making it applicable to a wider range of territories in MED Area. Once the methodology will be tested, the results will be integrated with the experiences of the 6 project, and then shared to the Interreg-Med area.

We are missing two coastal destination, one in Spain and one in France.

The Lead partner is the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. Other partners will be the MEDSEA Foundation (Italy), the Ca’Foscari (Italy), Sustainable building council of greece (Greece)
Destination: Villasimius (Italy), Sibenik (Croatia), Santorini (Greece), ANEPTA (Consortium of several munipalities of Cypro).

    Dear Mrs Puddu,

I work at Jerez city council (in the southern province of Cadiz, in Spain). We are 45 km. far from the sea, so we don’t know if we would be an eligible partner.

In case we are, we would be interested in being one of the pilot destinations of your project.

We have one of the highest unemployment rates in Europe and our main sector of activity is tourism (Sherry wine, horses, flamenco), so we are a perfect area to test your project.

Besides, we have more than 20 years experience in European projects and initiatives.

We look forward to hearing news from you.

    Yours faithfully,

    Pilar de la Torre (pilar.delatorre@aytojerez.es)

    Dear Manuela Puddu,
As you are looking for a french potential partner, our local authority the Departement of Herault is involved in tourism on the seashore but also inlands in order to balance the mass tourism.
Therefore we are promoting all the assets of our territory such as vineyards and their typical landscapes, the local rural production (wines, olive oil, oignons etc) but also the protected areas and an unique geology.
The institution “Herault Tourisme” is also managing an on line booking center to support rural lodging and several strategic plans but also statistics are compiled on a regular basis to provide sets of indicators.
I stay in touch for any further information
    Best regards

    Dear Manuela,
From the Provincial Council of Granada is a priority to develop policies that promote sustainable tourism on our coastal area.
Nowadays we are starting to design and create a new nautical strategy where linking our offer in nautical tourism and sea sports with other traditional tourism attractions in our coastal area (historical heritage, cultural tourism, gastronomic tourism, etc…..). The final goal is to create new tourism packages where combine these traditional tourism products with the nautical and water sports offer.
For it, we are working very close to the nautical and water sports business sector and the local and provincial tourism policies responsibles.
The objective is to promote a sustainable tourism that tries to alleviate one of the biggest problems in our coast area that is the seasonality in tourism.
For all this, we would like to manifest our interest in participate in your project proposal.
Please Don’t hesitate to contact us for further information,
We will be grateful if you could take into consideration our participation on the project!
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
