Dear René,

We are a Regional Development/Energy Public Entity in Thessaloniki, Greece, assisting Municipalities and Regional Authorities in policy and strategy for sustainable development and energy efficiency in public buildings since 1995.

Recently we successfully concluded an IEE project on Sustainable Energy Action Plans for Municipalities called “City-SEC”, (http://www.citysec.eu/), where energy efficiency in public buildings involving retrofitting was the main goal.

We have been involved in a MED project about energy retrofit in public buildings (Republic-MED) where a methodology to perform energy retrofit has been develop. Established 1984, the “Departamento do Património Histórico e Artístico da Diocese de Beja” [DPHA] (Department of Historical and Artistic heritage, Catholic Diocesis of Beja) is a pioneer ONG, operating with national, regional and local authorities, in safeguarding the religious heritage. In particular, it is in charge of the cultural heritage of the Beja region, in the South of Portugal, between the Atlantic ocean and the Spanish border. The Diocese of Beja keeps over 200.000 inventoried works of art in churches, monasteries, convents and museums and over 500 buildings.
