FEDENATUR is the Association of managers of Natural Parks located in the outskirts of cities. By their location, these Natural Parks are confronted with specific problems (urban pressure, invasive alien species, degradation, water pollution, lack of ecological continuity, etc.). In the Mediterranean area, we have members in Greece, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. Some of our members are Periurban protected parks located on coastal areas. We are therefore very well placed to spread ideas, transfer good practices to our members and promote networking among managers and technicians of protected areas.

We would like to form part of an Horizontal project on Axis 3 specific objective 3. 2 To maintain biodiversity and natural ecosystems through strenthening the management and networking of protected areas.

We have a large experience in Community Building ( Organisation of Workshops and seminars), Communication (Congresses, newsletters,etc.) and Capitalisation /Transfer of good practices and thematic lobbying. FEDENATUR organises each year site visits and technical meetings on specific issues. FEDENATUR has taken part in several INTERREG projects and forms part of the European Habitats Forum, which assembles leading European nature conservation organisations. Furthermore, FEDENATUR has promoted several policy papers and recommendations at European and worldwide level.
