My first modular project and some newbie questions

Hi,

I plan to build my first modular system. But I have not too much cash actually. So my first need is to have some analogue fat sound like for exemple basses. I will be very happy if I can do the same stuff like a minimoog with my first modules and when I have the budget Evolve the setup for make more crazy sounds.
After some search on this forum I have some idea of what i need: – A nice VCO: I hesitate between and Livewire AFG (expensive) or the Tip Top Z3000 (2X less expensive) with an ext in so no need of another module that do that like for exemple the Doepfer A119. – A nice VCF: Tiptop 2040 or Analogue Systems EMS Synthi Filter or the Analogue Systems RS60 (based on the minimoog filter) or Harvestman Polivoks VCF or Doepfer A124.

Please help.
