Energy efficiency in public buildings in the region of northwestern BiH. Lot of public buildings in this region need to be adopted in order to reduce consumption of raw materials.

DA USC has also great experience in implementing EU funded projects with the aim of old town restoration. The region of north west BiH has a lot of old towns and cultural heritage, but almost all of them need to be restored in order to use them in tourism purposes.

    Dear Eldin!

The team of researchers from Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute with fruitful experience in the field of research and development of new materials for protection and consolidation of cultural heritage (i.e. functional coatings and consolidants) is very interested to participate in the project. As the result of the FP7 research project HEROMAT (http://www.heromat.com/) we recently developed together with the team from University of Novi Sad new photocatalytically active protection coatings and new effective, deep-penetrated consolidants, which could be used on your buildings during the renovation in order to consolidate and protect historical buildings. We believe that the usage of newly developed materials could be advantageous for your project. Our Institute is also experienced in many other research areas such as energy efficiency, earthquake (damage prevention) engineering, and construction waste management. In the past 5 years, we have collaborated in more than 70 international research project covering the whole area of building and civil engineering funded from different schemes (FP6, FP7, H2020, LIFE+, Interreg, ERA-NET, EUREKA, COST) thus we not only gained valuable knowledge from our field of expertise but also became familiar with administrative and financial matters of different funding schemes.

I hope you see an experience partner from Slovenia a good enrichment of your consortium. You can contact us on: neza.solinc@zag.si

    Dear Eldin,

The Municipality of Almeria is a local public institution which actively promotes policies of urban revitalization in line with sustainable policies. It has been already involved in 2 URBACT II projects reflecting social inclusion as well as development of economic activity and energy efficiency in the historical centre of the city. The Municipality is well aware of the need to implement innovative practices for creating a revitalised urban center and is eager to play a substantial role in the elaboration of such activities. We are contacting you, because although our cities are different we are facing many of the problems you highlight in your partner search:
-The city has undertaken recently an ambitious project to renovate the city center (where most of the historical buildings are located), but still needs to “attract” econocic activity and population.
-We are trying to promote “Energy efficiency” in all the renovations (in particular since the financial crisis has had a huge impact in the building sector and many people that were previously working in the sector are now unemployed).
-Due in part also to the financial crisis (with owners not able to invest in them) we have many abandoned areas and buidings that could be used in better ways.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind regards,

    Dear Sabine,

I work for SARGA is a public company with more than 1.200 workers, belonged by Government of Aragon (Northeastern of Spain). More information: http://www.sarga.es/doc/sarga_english.pdf We are responsible for the practical implementation of policies in sustainable development and agri-environment field, and therefore we are involved in designing and delivering these policies, hence our capacity to implement improved techniques.

Now we are running MED MAIN Project (MED Program) http://www.med-main.eu/ It is aimed at disseminating countermeasures to the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, that is the strong rise of temperatures that occurs in the urban areas with respect to the surrounding countryside due to absorption of solar radiation by the building and pavement surfaces. Very effective countermeasures to the UHI effect are given by cool roofs and cool pavements, that is the wide range of technological solutions that are characterized by high and certified capacity to reflect solar radiation.
At STEP Project. (Interreg IVC) Improving Communities’ Sustainable Energy Policy Tools. The project foster local level policies supporting energy efficiency and energy self-sufficiency derived from national/regional policies. http://www.steproject.eu

Also, SARGA has long and successful experiences of European Union funding projects in fields such as empower Entrepreneurship in agriculture industry in rural areas, open data, sustainable rural development Projects (support schemes for entrepreneurs),smart strategy, energy efficiency, capacity building, women entrepreneur, biomass, Clean Energies, environment quality, R+D+I Projects…

Also we are running several UE Projects in innovation and smart energy efficiency field:
    • HOMER Project (MED Program) http://homerproject.eu/project HOMER is the strategic MED project that focuses on the theme of Open Data, a world-wide policy aiming at making available and exploitable Public Sector Information (PSI). Governments are increasingly recognising the benefits of making their data open and reusable. The first is transparency: simply opening PSI, citizens can be better informed and participate in the decision making process. The second is linked to the economic value of PSI, whose wider re-use is considered a primary content resource for the development of digital markets
    • LIFE+ POWER Project. Demonstration and quantifying of the potential energy savings derived from both, the efficient water management and the generation of models to scale through renewable energy-based devices applied to water pumping systems and the subsequent quantifying of the reduction of emissions to the atmosphere are sought. http://www.lifepowerproject.eu/
    • We have a Department for Biomass promotion, thanks to our participation in Woode3 Project (Interreg MED Program http://www.woode3.eu ) and developing Environmental Management Plan for SMEs.

For all the above, we would like you to consider our candidacy to participate in your project and contact me in order to have more information and contributing to the proposal writing.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Dear,

I have seen your idea on the Med website.

We are the hydraulic members of the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering of Politecnico di Torino (Turin, Italy). Our competences are the following: hydraulic, hydrology, river engineering, hydropower and water engineering in general.

We are a university, so a public body; we can perform research activity on this issue, giving an added value to the project (a scientific value).

At the moment we are working on several topics, energy production by micro-hydropower and water wheels in particular. Concerning your idea, We deal with ancient water wheels and mills; their restoration could improve the local economy and tourism, with the added value of the clean energy production. We have already published two international scientific papers on water wheels.

If you are interested, please don’esitate to contact me.
